You may want to keep some of your more rare Taken/Hive type mods and the armor they're slotted in until we figure out if those are being re-added in some way under 2.0. For now, gun mods are still working the same way as the old system, so hang onto those until we get guns 2.0, or whatever that ends up being. And if you’re scrapping all your old 1.0 armor, there’s really no reason to keep them, because breaking them down into mod components will help you buy new, permanent 2.0 mods from Banshee.

You Can Delete All Your Armor Mods – Bungie says that your old, consumable mods aren’t just going to evaporate, but they don’t work with the new system either. But since you can pull those from collections, there’s still no reason to keep them in your vault. The only confirmed sets that are not going to be 2.0 are faction sets and Trials sets, since you can’t re-earn them. That includes all the planetary vendor sets, and according to Bungie, Zavala and Shaxx will be offering year 1 Vanguard and Crucible armor in year 3.

You Can Delete All Year 1 Armor – Unlike what happened with year 2, most year 1 armor actually is coming back as armor 2.0 variants.

You may want to keep a few of your god rolls here because there may be some restrictions under the new elemental system where certain mods can't pair together, as we're still trying to sort out some of the finer details on how restrictive that will be. And all future versions found in the wild will be different rolls of 2.0. You Can Delete All Your Armor Exotics – I mean, save the ones you’re using right now, but Bungie confirmed that while you cannot pull legendary armor from collections as 2.0, you can pull exotic armor as a fixed roll, armor 2.0 variant, meaning again, it will be better and more flexible than whatever version you have now.
